Breakfast. Break-Fast. Breaking Fast or Breakie. However you interpret the word breakfast, it’s that morning before the 11am meal! Breakfast can be as sweet as you like, savory as you feel, hot or cold, blended or a liquid, raw or cooked, fermented or not of deliciously heartwarming goodness that ultimately brings you to the family table.
I personally really enjoy making breakfast. I feel that decorating a breakfast recipe takes it to a whole new level. Planning breakfast the day before and mapping out the diversity of recipes feels like Christmas. Setting the table is fun and can take breakfast to a whole new level — with beautiful condiments, flowers, and loads of really delicious food with some sweet tunes of reggae playing in the background, I feel at service to all my close friends and family.
Here’s a fun “personal” fact about me, “I am not a fan of eating breakfast”, at all… I never have been, to be honest. It’s that one meal I don’t desire. I do, though, love to plan and cook a wonderful meal for all who just can’t wait to get up and eat breakfast. I believe most chefs are like this. Well, the ones I know personally all don’t eat breakfast. I think it’s because we are always around food – like ALWAYS – and breakfast seems to be a (FULL) stop to our day, and we chefs can’t stop when we start!
