What kind of health future do you desire?

One of the greatest things I was ever told is something called your Inner Health Contract.

It’s like your car insurance for example, but instead of paying money to know your car will be fixed, you pay with good food and good feelings and good thoughts.

Because what sort of old person do you want to be?

My dear friend Rachelle actually wrote hers out and in her case (cos everyone’s different) she had a number of clauses which started with “I must…”

I must drink water
I must breathe deeply
I must satiate myself with foods I love
I must acknowledge how I feel when I eat food
I must understand how I feel.

Your inner health contract might be completely different.

You’ve got to go by feeling. And when women and men become grounded in their body, in their presence, in the natural intelligence which runs through all things, you can ignore all the voices and the industries around us which tell us

– don’t eat this
– eat this instead
– count this
– less of that

And then you have the opportunity to connect with your body and your own, unique Inner Health Contract.

I hate kale. I think that should be the title of a book.
I especially hate kale in green smoothies. Ergh. Pour me drink a glass of pureed lawn clippings in milk. #vomit.

So I don’t drink kale. I don’t even drink smoothies because I F-ing hate smoothies! And that’s part of My Inner Health Contract.

I’m not going to blend kale into a liquidy pulpy mess, and I’m definitely not going to drink it in a smoothie just because it’s the latest food-ism. The latest health trend. The latest pouty yoga Insta-whatever telling me that she loves kale (#love and #blessings and #kale to all the pouty yoga IG stars out there btw – half of you are already my friends lol).

I’ve got to let my body decide.

I’ve got to get really honest with how my body feels after I eat a meal.

And I’ve got to stick as close to nature as possible.

From that place – that place of honesty and nature, you’ll discover your own Inner Health Contract.
