Relax On A Winters Day And Indulge In A Splendid Spiced Winter Drink
Winter is slowly approaching, at least in some parts of the world, and I always have special memories about it. We don’t see much of the winter here in Bali, but back at home in Australia, winters can be freezing cold. So, whenever I think of winter, I get these memories of a family gathering on weekends, and then the smell of food that is coming from the kitchen together with the fragrance of homemade cookies, the room is filled with laughter and joy…
…And outside, it’s cold but peaceful and the only thing you want to do is just wrap yourself up in a blanket, take a cup of warm, winter drink and enjoy the atmosphere.
Well, I have just the right recipe for a spiced winter drink to bring back these lovely memories. One of my friends came up with the right name for this drink – “Apple Pie In A Cup” – because of its cinnamon fragrance and nutmeg-clove combo that makes you salivate.
The Hugs And Fragrance of Spiced Winter Drink – aka “Apple Pie In A Cup”
Subtle, lovely, incredible and cuddly. That’s who I would describe this winter drink. But what makes it so glorious? I’m glad you asked.
The base for this drink is coconut milk. I love coconut milk because of its flavour, but if you are not a fan of coconut, use any nut milk of your choice. You can even make your own nut milk at home. But what actually gives this drink its enchanting fragrance is a combo of spices – cloves, cardamom, nutmeg, and a lot, and I mean a LOT of cinnamon. The fusion of these spices will warm and cuddle your soul.
Preparing this drink is pretty straightforward. Get your blender ready, throw in all the ingredients and press the Play button. You will notice how the milk already got frothy; don’t freak out, that’s how it’s supposed to be.
Now, if you would taste the drink, you’d probably notice that the spices are bearably noticeable. That’s why we need to do one final thing and that’s the warm-up the drink on low heat to allow the spices to come to life and enrich your apple pie in a cup. Keep a close eye on the milk and stir it often to prevent it from sticking to the pot and burning; otherwise, it will ruin the flavours.
And that my readers is it.
I bet this already sounds inviting, so without wasting any time, check out the video or the recipe below and enjoy this winter drink in all its glory.
