Super important to eat as many plant-based foods as possible as they contain loads of fibre. The fibre vitamins and nutrients in plant-based food move through the blood vessels that are in the lining of the small bowel and then absorbed in the colon. Making your digestion work optimally.
Dietary fibre appears to have varied effects. For some, it is incredibly helpful for the gut. Soluble fibre essentially acts like a sponge, absorbing fluid and making the bowel contents softer. It also binds to toxic waste products, allowing them to be eliminated efficiently. Insoluble fibre acts as like a “bulking agent” which, like soluble fibre, helps to keep our bowel regular (although bowel regularity is often more complex than just dietary fibre consumption, movement and water, and for some people, certain types of fibre can aggravate constipation; take notice of your own response).
Fibre may be of particular benefit for our gut bacteria; both insoluble and soluble fibres have been shown to positively alter our gut bacteria in as little as two weeks. Obtain your dietary fibre from whole food plant source
The colon thrives on high fibre foods. They all play a vital part of your personal plumbing system as it works around the clock to remove waste products from your body. Keeping your digestive system healthy.
Dark coloured veggies, legumes, grains, beans, lentils, oats, peas, citrus fruits, blueberries, apples.
All fruits, veggies, grains & seeds contain fibre. Examples of high fibre foods to incorporate – Spinach, broccoli, peas, carrots, beetroots, radish, chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, oats, quinoa, barley, almonds, beans, citrus fruits, apples, blackberries, pear, dates & avocado.
Fiber is one of the most important nutrients to include in your diet. It promotes healthy digestion and regular bowel movements and is essential for full-body health. Some foods contain much more fiber than others, making them ideal for people with digestive issues who are seeking a dietary solution.
Absolutely. If you’ve ever had nervous butterflies in your stomach or gut-wrenching anxiety, you already know that your brain and gastrointestinal tract are in sync. Your nervous and digestive systems are in constant communication.
Thoughts and emotions triggered by stress have an effect on your stomach and bowels. How we breathe, think and behave can cause stress and long-term upset. Breathing diaphragmatically – AKA big belly breaths throughout the day, drinking lots of water, eating foods that are high in fibre will improve the flow of your bowel movements.
When you eat, the neurons that line your digestive tract signal your intestines to contract and digest your food. When you’re under stress, this digestive process can slow down to a crawl. If the stress you have is severe or long-term, symptoms such as stomach pain and constipation can become chronic.

It may be a cliché, but when you’re stressed you may be more likely to reach for that really shitty highly processed meal from the local fast food joint. Followed by double-fudge ice cream, fizzy drinks instead of a kale salad. Stress and bad food choices sometimes go together. If you’re experiencing constipation, this can make matters worse.
Try passing up the foods that are like this that are known to cause problems. It may help to keep a food diary so you know which ones affect you most. Most often the culprits include Greasy foods, poor quality breads, dairy, high-fat foods and packaged food.

I’m a fan of pre and probiotics.I have brought thousands of dollars worth over the years in capsule form. At times I forget to take them, along with all the other supplements I am taking for gut health . When i saw that my favorite Chef who i have been following like forever, i knew right away her integrity she carries in herself and work will be in her MY MIGHT. I couldn’t believe it when i read her story on her open heart surgery and how much parmsuidacles she was on, how that robs our gut bacteria. I brought one jar of MY MIGHT and that was it. I am hooked.
